PUTNAMVILLE —
Motorists traveling along I-70 west of Indianapolis could encounter some complications this week as a monthslong highway upgrade gets under way.
State highway officials said road crews started Thursday on resurfacing a section of I-70 from just west of Indiana 39 to just west of Indiana 267.
Highway officials said there will be 11-foot lane restrictions on the interstate in the area the contractor will be working. The project was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction Co. of Indianapolis for $7.7 million.
The road work is scheduled for completion by Nov. 15.
The project is in addition to several other resurfacing projects under way on I-70 between Indianapolis and the Illinois state line near Terre Haute.
