TERRE HAUTE —
A woman has died of her injuries after a fire at the Super 8 Motel on Terre Haute’s south side on Sunday.
Randi L. Wallace, 31, of Terre Haute, was found inside the motel room early Sunday with burn injuries. She was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, where she died.
An autopsy in Marion County determined Wallace’s cause of death as smoke inhalation, fire investigator Norm Loudermilk told the Tribune-Star on Monday.
Brett Doan, assistant chief with the Terre Haute Fire Department, said no foul play is suspected, but investigators had not determined a cause of the fire as of Monday afternoon.
Firefighters contained the blaze to one second-story room where the woman was located.
