TERRE HAUTE —
A man accused of sexual misconduct with a minor avoided a trial scheduled for Monday by accepting a plea agreement Friday morning.
Louis P. Spencer, 42, pleaded guilty to a class-D felony charge of residential entry and was sentenced to 1,056 days in the Department of Correction by Vigo Superior Court 1 Judge John Roach.
Spencer has already served 528 days in the Vigo County jail, and with good-time credit earned, he was released from jail Friday having fully served the sentence.
The plea agreement also requires him to submit a DNA sample for a national database.
Spencer was charged in June 2009 with two class-C felony charges of sexual misconduct with a minor, attempted rape, a class-B felony, and residential entry, a class-D felony.
The plea agreement was reached with the approval of the victim’s family, an investigator said.
