Two people jailed on warrants after traffic stop

LYFORD — A routine traffic stop yielded two arrests Thursday afternoon near Lyford.

According to a news release issued by the Indiana State Police, both the driver and adult passenger were wanted for outstanding warrants. Two minor children traveling in the vehicle were reportedly released to the custody of grandparents at the scene.

Driver Sabrina Lowe, 27, of Terre Haute was arrested on two warrants for three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Her passenger, Brock Oeffler, 26, of Terre Haute, was arrested on three warrants for six charges — one class-A misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated, two class-D felony counts of operating while intoxicated, two counts of resisting law enforcement and a $100 writ for body attachment.

According to the release, troopers stopped the vehicle on U.S. 41 in Lyford for failing to signal a turn. A routine check revealed the driver had no valid license. Both Lowe and Oeffler were transported to the Vigo County Jail without incident.
