TERRE HAUTE —
A Terre Haute man has been arrested after Terre Haute Police investigated a report of an acquaintance rape that is to have occurred Aug. 7.
Gregory Kenneth Smith, 27, will appear Tuesday in Vigo Superior Court 1 on the class-B felony charge.
Detective Starla Neidigh reported that the victim contacted police Aug. 8 to say that the incident occurred at a house on the south side of town.
“She was passed out, and he allegedly took advantage of her,” Neidigh said of the reported incident.
Smith is being held in the Vigo County Jail with bail set at $50,000 cash only.
