BREAKING: U.S. Postal Service: Terre Haute mail processing center to close

TERRE HAUTE — The U.S. Postal Service today announced its decision to close the Terre Haute Processing and Distribution Center and move those operations to Indianapolis and Evansville.

Processing centers in Gary, Kokomo and South Bend also will close.

Specific dates have not been set for the transition. Until a specific date has been announced, residential and business mailers will continue to be served through the current facilities.

No change will occur prior to  May 15, said Mary Dando, USPS spokeswoman.
