TERRE HAUTE —
A mini van rolled over several times in an accident on U.S. 41 South near Pimento in southern Vigo County Wednesday afternoon.
A second vehicle, a four-door Suzuki passenger car, was also involved in the crash, which took place about 3:30 p.m.
The drivers of both vehicles received injuries, but they were not believed to be life-threatening, said Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Jones, who was at the scene of the crash, a few miles north of the Sullivan County line.
A woman was removed from the passenger car and placed on gurney by emergency responders.
Both vehicles were in the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 when the incident took place. It was not immediately known what caused the crash.
Traffic on U.S. 41 was temporarily reduced to one lane in both directions due to the accident. A second crash took place less than a mile to the north, possibly as traffic slowed for the first accident, police said.
