Police still tracking man suspected in pursuit case

TERRE HAUTE — Police are still seeking a Vigo County man who eluded capture Thursday after a three-county pursuit.

Daymon Langley, 23, could face charges in Vermillion and Parke counties, according to Clinton Police Chief Perry Hollowell.

As of 6 p.m. Friday, Langley had not been arrested in Vermillion County.

Police tried to stop Langley on Thursday morning, when he was seen driving a truck while being a known habitual traffic violator. When Langley refused to stop for police, a pursuit began that entered Parke County, where Langley allegedly tried to run Chief  Hollowell’s car off the road.

The pursuit continued to U.S. 41 and went south into Vigo County, ending when Langley pulled onto a former farm property and abandoned his truck. He ran into a wooded area, prompting a manhunt that continued most of the day Thursday and involved canine units.

Hollowell said Friday that several tips have been received about Langley’s possible whereabouts.

Anyone with information can call Clinton police at (765) 832-9339.
