GREENCASTLE —
Authorities say a central Indiana police officer who was responding to a reported domestic disturbance fatally shot a man who charged at the officer.
Twenty-eight-year-old Charles Aaron Brousard of Greencastle was pronounced dead at the scene early Sunday by the Putnam County Coroner.
State police say the officer in the city went to a home on Sycamore Street after police received a report of a domestic disturbance involving a man and a woman. When the officer arrived, police say the man charged and a scuffle ensued during which the officer shot the man.
Police have not released the name of the officer involved in the shooting, which is being investigated by state police.
