State police arrest three women on meth charges

PUTNAMVILLE — The Indiana State Police Post at Putnamville has been receiving methamphetamine-related tips on nearly a daily basis since initiating the Putnamville District Meth Lab Enforcement Team on March 1, the police agency said in a press release.

Some of those tips, along with other investigative avenues used by the team, resulted on Thursday in the arrest of three females in two counties.

The females were arrested on Sullivan and Vigo County warrants between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Amber Pitts, 30, Terre Haute, was arrested at her residence in the 1300 block of Third Avenue on a Vigo County warrant alleging criminal conversion and was taken to the Vigo County Jail. Her bond is unknown, ISP said.

Michelle Heidelberger, 39, Shelburn, was arrested at her residence at in the 1500 block of North Center Street in Shelburn on a Sullivan County warrant for petition to revoke probation on habitual traffic violator, a class-C felony. She was taken to the  Sullivan County Jail; her bond was set at $15,000 with no 10 percent allowed.

Autumn Schmidtz, 22, of Sullivan was arrested at the home of an acquaintance in Sullivan on a petition to revoke probation on marijuana charge, a class-D felony. She is in the Sullivan County Jail on an $8,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed.

ISP asks citizens to call the Putnamville Post at 765-653-4114 with meth-related tips. All callers can remain anonymous and every lead will be investigated, police said.

The Putnamville District includes Parke, Vermillion, Clay, Putnam, Vigo and Sullivan counties.

The arrests were made by ISP Troopers B.J. Patterson, Shilo Raulston and Mike Wood. All three are part of the Putnamville District Meth Lab Enforcement Team
