Police continue to receive multiple tips in a Sullivan County homicide investigation, but, as of late Thursday, no arrests were reported in the case.
Police still have no definite suspects in the case, but leads continue to emerge regarding the shooting death of Lowell R. Badger, said Sgt. Joe Watts of the Indiana State Police.
Badger, 85, was discovered shot to death in his Sullivan County home Saturday morning. The Sullivan County coroner ruled the death a homicide.
Meanwhile, reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case continues to roll in. Through the donations and combined efforts of First Financial Bank, the Sullivan County Credit Union, Indiana Farm Bureau and Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers, the reward has reached $25,000, Watts stated.
The shooting is believed to have taken place between 8 p.m. Friday evening and 9:23 Saturday morning at Badger’s home, which is near the town of Merom.
State Police believe a 46-inch Sony Bravia LCD television was taken from Badger’s home at the same time as the shooting. They are asking anyone with information about such a television set being obtained under suspicious circumstances to contact ISP First Sgt. Jeff Hearon or Detective Tom Hanks at the Putnamville State Police post at (765) 653-4114. Tips may remain anonymous, police said.

The Sullivan County Credit Union in Sullivan is accepting donations for the “Lowell Badger Reward Fund.” Badger, whose memorial services are Sunday and Monday, was a member of the credit union’s board of directors. He was also a retired farmer and active in many other community organizations.
