TERRE HAUTE —
A Terre Haute man remained in the hospital Sunday after an ATV accident in Parke County.
According to a media release issued by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Richard W. Navel, 65, Terre Haute, was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after crashing his ATV on Coxville Road in Parke County at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday.
The crash occurred while Navel was participating in a charity ride for Riley Children’s Hospital. He was reportedly traveling alone at the time of the incident and Indiana Conservation Officers were still investigating the accident Sunday afternoon.
According to hospital staff, Navel remained in serious condition Sunday afternoon.
