Arrests made in Clay church break-ins

BRAZIL — Police in Clay County have arrested two juveniles in connection with several break-ins at area churches.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department said the two juveniles were arrested and detained on Saturday evening on felony burglary and theft charges and also misdemeanor trespass and criminal mischief charges.

Items stolen from the churches include sound equipment, musical instruments, electronics and cash. The combined value of the stolen items reaches into the thousands of dollars, according to a Clay County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Some stolen items have been recovered, but they are a small amount in comparison to the items that were stolen, the release stated.

Because of their ages, the identities of the juveniles are being withheld.
