Children’s Museum to close for cleaning, maintenance

TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute Children's Museum will be closed for its annual Shutdown and Maintenance Days Sept. 3-11. The museum will take this time to do extensive cleaning, painting touch-ups, review policies and procedures, and make updates to some of the exhibit areas. The museum will reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12.

"Since opening the new museum at the corner of Eighth and Wabash, we have welcomed more than 135,000 guests," said Lynn Hughes, executive director of the Terre Haute Children's Museum. "Obviously, with this many guests, the museum gets a lot of wear and tear, and requires a real 'deep-clean' so that we can continue to offer our visitors a quality experience."

Now through Sept. 2, the museum will operate under its normal hours: today through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

For more information about the Terre Haute Children's Museum, call (812) 235-5548. Information is also available www.thchildrensmuseum.com or www.facebook.com/terrehautechildrensmuseum.
