Evan Lunsford of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has been recognized as a financial professional with an expertise in long-term care insurance by achieving the Certified in Long-Term Care designation.
With the CLTC designation, Lunsford has received one of the most extensive educations available for financial professionals in the field of long-term care insurance. Graduates of the CLTC designation program from the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification, Inc. have completed a multidisciplinary curriculum with a detailed concentration on essential information involved in the sale of long-term care insurance. Polly Jeffers has received the distinction of becoming certified in care management with the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. Jeffers is the founder and owner of Wabash Valley Care Management and Consulting, LLC and has been providing care management services since March.
Jeffers is a graduate of St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and a licensed social worker in Indiana. Her past experience includes case work in the public welfare system, health care coordination and case management at HealthSouth Hospital in acute rehabilitation, sub-acute, and long term acute care settings, as well as a social services director in long-term care facilities.
A member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, Jeffers assists families with the challenges of aging and disability, such as evaluation of eligibility for services and assistance, linkage to appropriate services for the individual, ongoing care coordination, referral to medical providers or elder law attorneys, crisis intervention, finding appropriate housing and/or in-home care, advocacy and support providing families peace of mind knowing their family member is receiving the most appropriate care for his/her needs.

Ann Valentine, Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College’s Wabash Valley Region, has been selected to serve on a Commission of the American Association of Community Colleges.
Valentine will serve as a member of the Commission on Communications and Marketing and began her term on July 1. She will serve a 3-year term.
“I am very pleased to be selected to serve on an AACC Commission,” Valentine said. “As a widely recognized national voice for community college policy, the AACC does very important work for our colleges and students across the U.S. This is also a great opportunity for Ivy Tech to be even more closely connected to AACC advocacy efforts.”
There are six commissions authorized by the AACC Board. Each of these commissions were established to accomplish the following:
• provide advice to the AACC Board and staff;
• encourage collaboration among community college entities and organizations;
• provide a forum for focused conversation about the important community college issues and priorities of the day;
• provide for increased involvement in the Association by AACC member CEOs and other professional staff; and
• Provide leadership opportunities for members of the AACC Board of Directors (who serve as Chairs).
Valentine has had faculty and administrative positions in higher education for more than 20 years and was selected in May 2011 to serve as Chancellor for Ivy Tech’s Wabash Valley region. She earned her doctorate degree in higher education and master’s degree in public administration from Iowa State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and her associate degree from Kirkwood Community College, also in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
