Franchise Times ranks RE/MAX as top franchisor

INDIANAPOLIS — For the third year in a row, RE/MAX was ranked as the No. 1 real estate franchisor by Franchise Times magazine. Results from the 2011 Franchise Times Top 200 Survey identify RE/MAX in the 15th position overall, far outpacing other national real estate brands and placing the company among such top franchises as McDonald’s, 7-Eleven and Subway. The rankings were primarily based on worldwide sales volume.

“The number-one real estate ranking by Franchise Times once again demonstrates the strength of the RE/MAX brand here in Indiana and across the country,” said Dan Breault, executive vice president, regional director at RE/MAX of Indiana. “Even in times of economic uncertainty, with the ups and downs of the housing market, our franchise owners are fueling the success of the RE/MAX brand.”

Founded in 1987, RE/MAX of Indiana is made up of more than 80 offices that are independently owned and operated, with nearly 1,200 sales associates. In 2010, RE/MAX was Indiana’s real estate market leader with $2.3 billion in annual sales.

In addition to the Franchise Times ranking, the company was ranked highest in customer satisfaction by both buyers and sellers in the 2011 J.D. Power and Associates Home Buyer/Seller Study. RE/MAX also was named a Top 100 Global Franchise by franchisedirect.com. In addition, two national industry surveys ranked RE/MAX agents as the most productive among all other national franchises. In one survey, RE/MAX held 21 of the top 25 positions when ranked by agent production.

The Franchise Times Top 200 is an annual financial snapshot of the 200 most successful U.S.-based franchise companies as measured by worldwide sales. The complete list of honorees appears in the October issue of Franchise Times.
