TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana State women’s basketball team — winners of two in a row — hit the road for a pair of Missouri Valley Conference matchups this weekend.

ISU takes on Drake at 8:05 p.m. today before returning to the court at 3:05 p.m. Sunday at Creighton.

The Sycamores are in sixth place in the MVC standings at 6-6 , one-half game ahead of Drake (12-12 overall, 6-7 MVC). The Bulldogs came away with a 67-59 victory in Terre Haute earlier this season and will be looking to sweep the season series for the second time in the last three seasons.

Then ISU will face Creighton (7-6 MVC), which enters the weekend one-half game ahead of the Sycamores in the standings.

Indiana State senior Shannon Thomas was named the State Farm MVC Player of the Week on Monday after leading the team with 18.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game in its weekend sweep of Bradley and Northern Iowa.

Drake ended its season-long four-game losing skid last Sunday, winning 55-51 at Evansville. Senior center Rachael Hackbarth leads the conference in scoring and rebounding, posting averages of 19.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
