RICHMOND —
The visiting Terre Haute Rex ended a four-game roadtrip in winning fashion, blanking Richmond 2-0 in a Prospect League baseball game on Saturday.
Christian Slaznick, Chris Bossenbery and Nick Cunningham combined to toss a five-hit shutout. Slaznick (1-1) was the winning pitcher, going 72⁄3 innings. Bossenbery got the final out in the eighth inning, before Cunningham picked up his fourth save with a scoreless ninth.
The Rex scored both their runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Chris Manning struck out, but reached first base, then stole second and reached third on an error by the pitcher. Lucas Hileman walked. Joe Meggs drove in Manning with a ground out. Koby Kraemer singled, then Chris Roglen plated Hileman with a sacrifice fly.
The Rex (11-11) will host the Quincy Gems at 5:05 p.m. today at Warn Field.
