The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the inaugural All-HCAC Sportsmanship Team for the fall of 2009.
This award was developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition.
Nominees must be a member of an intercollegiate athletics team during the 2009-2010 academic year and must have demonstrated consistently the values of respect and integrity in his or her daily participation in intercollegiate athletics.
Selected from Rose-Hulman were Justin Druba, men’s cross country; Corrie Campbell, women’s cross country; Andrew Couch, football; Allison Luther, women’s golf; Andy Cheung, men’s soccer; Julie Brennan, women’s soccer; Amanda Jevons, volleyball; and Elynn Norris, women’s tennis.
Also selected was men’s soccer player Garrett Fredrick of Manchester, a Terre Haute South graduate.

• Gold medal winners named — Gold medal winners announced earlier this week at the Terre Haute North fall sports awards night were Tapring Goatee in girls cross country, Rachel Welker in girls golf, Molly McKee in girls soccer, Sara Baugh in volleyball, Ben Ramseier in boys soccer, John Mascari in boys cross country, Nate Sanders in boys tennis and Chris O’Leary in football.
O’Leary also received the Humphrey Award as Vigo County’s Most Valuable Player.
