Tribune-Star staff report
A dominant performance from the recently formed East eighth-grade team and a resurgence by Sarah Scott teams at the younger levels were highlights Sunday as the Vigo County Youth Football League completed its season with championship games at Memorial Stadium.
Kai Stratton and Jacob Johnson were among the statistical leaders for the East, which remained unbeaten in Vigo County — suffering one loss against Center Grove — by beating the North team 36-0.
Otherwise it was a good day for the southern part of the county, as Sarah Scott won two championships and the combined South team one.
Sarah Scott won the third- and fourth-grade title 25-7 over Chauncey Rose, and added a fifth-grade championship by beating Honey Creek 20-6.
Woodrow Wilson beat Chauncey Rose 40-14 for the sixth-grade crown, and South beat North 18-6 in the seventh-grade game.
