Sarah Burnham pitched a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in high school softball Monday evening as host Riverton Parke defeated defending champion Rockville 10-0 in opening-round action at the Class A Riverton Parke Sectional.
Burnham also had a double and Shelby Virostko, E.B. Dickey and Paige Yando had two hits each for the Panthers, who return to action at 5:15 p.m. today against Covington. The Trojans advanced by beating Attica 13-2 in the first of two five-inning games Monday.

• Terre Haute South 4, Bloomington South 2 — At Terre Haute South, Spencer Whitlock’s double was the big blow in a three-run sixth inning as the host Braves came from behind to win their final regular-season game.
