For the Pomeroys, Brittney Shaner, Rebecca Tracy, Chelsey Barron and Whitney Allen scored 16, 13, 11 and 10 points, respectively.
SMWC ends the season with a record of 16-13, winning nine out of their last 10 games.

• Maroons win sectional — At Effingham, Ill., Robinson won a 71-65 come-from-behind thriller over Teutopolis in the IHSA Class 2A Effighan boys basketball sectional championship game on Friday.
Ben Jones paced the Maroons with 20 points. Derek Hannahs scored 19 points while Meyers Leonard added 18 points, 14 rebounds.

• Johnson leads LTC to nationals —Lincoln Trail College won the District 24 women’s tournament on Friday. Former Terre Haute South player Tessa Johnson had 21 points and made the All-Tournament team.
LTC (28-3) will be playing in the nationals in Salina, Kan. on March 16-20.
Baseball
• Rose goes 5-1 — At Winter Haven, Fla., Rose-Hulman completed its spring trip with a 5-1 record after pounding Johnson & Wales 20-4 on Friday.
Junior Chris Stemple blasted a grand slam with three hits total and five RBIs to lead the 19-hit attack. Senior Tim Tepe added three hits, including a double, with four runs scored.
Other Engineers with multiple hits included senior Andrew Bilse with two singles, three RBIs and two runs scored; junior Michael Kovacs with two singles and three runs scored; senior Kirk Thompson with two singles, three RBIs and two runs scored; senior Troy Eveslage with two doubles and three RBIs; and junior Kreigh Williams with two singles, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Senior Derek Eitel tossed seven innings and allowed five hits with six strikeouts to earn his second win of the Florida trip and lead the pitching effort.
Rose-Hulman broke the game open with a 10-run sixth inning that gave the Engineers a 16-3 advantage.
The No. 19 ranked Engineers outscored the opposition 97-28 in six contests in Florida. Rose reached double figures in runs scored five times in six games, including two contests of 20 or more runs.
Rose stands 5-1 on the season and returns to action on Friday with a 7 p.m. matchup against Calvin College in the home opener at Art Nehf Field.
• Eberle off to hot start — At Vincennes, Terre Haute North graduate, freshman Michael Eberle had a pair of doubles, two runs batted in and two runs scored as Lincoln Trail College nipped Vincennes University 10-9 in their season opener.
Eberle was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored in a 4-3 win vs. Georgia Perimeter College in LTC’s second game of the season.

• Rose has final tune-up — At Alliance, Ohio, Rose-Hulman sophomore Sutton Coleman and freshman Liz Evans captured individual titles in their final tune-up for the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend.
Coleman captured the men’s triple jump with a leap of 45-9 1/4 to capture top honors at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet. Evans claimed the women’s high jump championship with a leap of 5-5 1/4.
Evans has automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Nationals that will take place at DePauw University next weekend. Coleman entered the weekend ranked 11th in the latest NCAA Division III performance list with a triple jump mark of 47-1.
The top 14 competitors were selected to the Nationals last year at Rose-Hulman, and no fewer than 14 will be accepted for next weekend’s meet at DePauw.
Evans will compete in the women’s high jump on Friday at 4 p.m. If Coleman is selected for the men’s triple jump, he will compete at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. The entire field will be released on Monday.
• Mascari, Bell win — At Greencastle, John Mascari of Terre Haute North won the 3,200-meter run (9:34.46) and Ariann Bell of Terre Haute South won the shot put (38-6) in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference indoor meet at DePauw University on Friday.
