TERRE HAUTE —
Two Rose-Hulman track and field athletes received weekly honors from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Monday.
Liz Evans was named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and Stuart West was Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Evans had two victories and two school records in Friday’s DePauw Invitational, taking the triple jump in 35-feet-6 1/2 and high jump in 5-8 3/4. The triple-jump mark was a school record, as was her third-place effort of 17-6 3/4 in long jump.
West won the 800-meter run in 1:57.19, fourth-fastest time in Rose-Hulman history and the fastest time in the HCAC this season.
Rose-Hulman competes at Monmouth this Saturday.
Basketball
• Panthers, Warriors eliminated — Oblong and Casey lost first-round games in Illinois high school regional contests Monday night.
At Teutopolis, Casey lost 65-32 to Vandalia at the Class 2A Teutopolis Regional with Taelor Tiffin scoring 14 points and Michaela Montgomery 10 for the Warriors.
Vandalia plays top-seeded Marshall at 6 p.m. CST today, while the host team plays the winner of Monday’s late game between Greenville and Paris in today’s second semifinal game.
At Martinsville, Kansas defeated Oblong 64-43 and will play top-seeded Cumberland today in the Class 1A Martinsville Regional. Palestine-Hutsonville and the host Bluestreaks played the second game Monday, with the winner meeting Neoga today.

• St. Mary-of-the-Woods 83, MacMurray 69 — At Clinton, the host Pomeroys got yeoman work from six players Saturday in a home-court victory.
Brittney Shaner had 31 points for the winners, while Chelsea Weaver added 18, Whitney Allen 16, Chelsey Barron 10 with 13 rebounds and Jen McLeish-Marietta eight. Barron, Shaner and Weaver all played the entire 40 minutes.
Now 9-12, St. Mary-of-the-Woods goes on the road this week to Robert Morris-Springfield on Friday and LIndenwood-Belleville on Saturday.
• West Vigo wins — At Spencer, West Vigo’s freshman boys defeated Northview 36-30 Monday to win the Western Indiana Conference championship.
The Vikes had a 17-14 lead at halftime in the game played at Owen Valley.
Braiden Cardinal led the Vikes with 11 points and Alex West had nine. Harden led the Knights with 10 points.
• Diamonds go 4-0 — At Louisville, the Terre Haute Diamonds won all four games of a tournament at Louisville during the weekend, winning pool games by scores of 44-32 and 49-40, downing the Louisville Retros 51-16 in the semifinals and beating the Louisville Cubs 44-29 for the championship.
Team members are Mallory Bell, Torri Brewer, Ali Danielson, Riley Davis, Lauren Hambrock, Anne Hubbard, Madison Jaeger, Lauren Perrelle and Shannon Sullivan. Lisa Davis is the coach.
