North TH 11-12s advance to state semifinals with 12-5 victory

INDIANAPOLIS — The North Terre Haute 11-12 year-old Little League team advanced to the state semifinals Tuesday with a 12-5 victory over Ben Davis at Falls Park.

Nick Rush and R.J. Easton hit back-to-back home runs in a five-run fourth inning for North Terre Haute, and Brandon Taylor added a solo homer in the same inning.

Rush went 3 for 3 with two home runs, and Easton and Cody Maloon had two hits each.

Highlights — For NTH, Nick Rush went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and 3 runs scored; R.J. Easton 2 for 3 with a home run; Brandon Taylor 1 for 4 with a solo home run; Logan Grimm 1 for 1 with 3 walks and 2 runs; Cody Maloon 2 for 4 with a double and 2 runs; and Nathan Higby 1 for 1 with a run.

Next — North Terre Haute plays tonight at 6 p.m. in the state semifinals against Bedford. Golfmoor (Evansville) plays New Albany in the other semifinal. The championship is Thursday.
