Post 346 rallies late to top Crawfordsville

CRAWFORDSVILLE — After struggling offensively for six innings Thursday night, Wayne Newton Post 346 scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning and made them stand up for a 6-4 win over host Crawfordsville Post 72 in American Legion baseball.

Crawfordsville had erased a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the bottom of the first, then added two more in the third.

But Post 346 starter Damon Olds held Post 72 in check the rest of the way, then got ninth-inning relief help from Pete Lannoo after getting offensive help from his teammates.

Sam Wolf had two singles and a big first-inning double for the winners, while Preston Tofaute added a single and double.
