Murray, Ky. — Indiana State recorded its first three-game sweep of the 2007 college baseball season on Sunday, beating host Murray State 12-4.
Now 8-7 for the year, the Sycamores had 37 runs and 44 hits in the three games against the 3-14 Thoroughbreds.
ISU took the lead for good with four runs in the top of the fourth. An error, a wild pitch and an RBI single by Osborne made it 5-0 before Murray State rallied for three runs, but Adam Lindsay came on in relief to stop a seventh-inning rally and the Sycamores got seven more runs in the top of the ninth.
Skyler Pearson started the game and performed well, pitching five and two-thirds innings and allowing just a pair of hits and one run to earn his first career victory.
