TERRE HAUTE —
A parade has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday to honor Terre Haute native Steve Weatherford, a punter with the Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
The parade will begin at the Vigo County School Corp. administration building at Seventh Street and Wabash Avenue.
The route will follow Wabash Avenue east to Brown Boulevard, Brown Boulevard north to Maple Avenue, then on to Terre Haute North Vigo High School, from which Weatherford graduated.
The parade will be led by several police cars. Vigo County high school bands and the Terre Haute Fire Department Pipes and Drums also will be involved. Community dignitaries will participate.
Weatherford and his family will ride a fire truck.
After the parade, a pep rally involving the North student body will take place at the school.
