King named Downtown Terre Haute operations coordinator

Started duties on July 9

TERRE HAUTE — Ariane Marie King has been named operations coordinator for Downtown Terre Haute Inc.

King, a Terre Haute native, will be responsible for managing organizational programs and projects. She began her duties July 9.

“Ariane has earned an excellent reputation as a leader and advocate for our downtown community,” said Marla Flowers, president of Downtown Terre Haute Inc. and director of operations for Hulman & Co. “We are fortunate to have attracted such a high level of talent and we are ecstatic to have her on board as the face of Downtown Terre Haute Inc.”

King is an Indiana State University graduate, having earned her bachelor’s in 2005. She completed a Master of Leadership Development degree in nonprofit administration from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2010.

Previously, King served as administrative coordinator for Art Spaces Inc.–Wabash Valley Outdoor Sculpture Collection, where she gained experience in fundraising, event planning and community efforts. She played a major role in planning the installation and dedication in 2010 of the “Max Ehrmann at the Crossroads” sculpture at Seventh Street and Wabash Avenue.

“Ariane has proven to be a great asset to the not-for-profit community in Terre Haute, and Indiana State University shares in congratulating her and Downtown Terre Haute Inc. on this appointment,” said Chris Pfaff, director of business engagement for ISU and a DTH board member.

King is also a member of Terre Haute Young Leaders and Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability.

“I’m honored to have this incredible opportunity and excited to be an advocate for our downtown area,” King said. “Downtown Terre Haute is a special place, and it will be amazing to watch it grow and prosper and to be a part of the transformation and revitalization.”
