FORT WAYNE —
An SUV slammed into the entry way of a Fort Wayne restaurant after crashing with a car on the street out front.
Police say the SUV failed to stop at a red light along Coliseum Boulevard on the city’s north side early Wednesday when it collided with the car, then went off the street into the Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant.
The crash shattered several windows and mangled aluminum beams around the restaurant’s entrance. The SUV driver wasn’t hurt, but the driver of the car was taken to a hospital in serious condition. No one in the restaurant was hurt
Restaurant worker Crosby North tells WANE-TV that a cleaning party with many employees had been planned for the time of the crash but had been canceled at the last minute.
