TERRE HAUTE —
A Dec. 17 trial date has been set for a Terre Haute man who faces an allegation of child molestation.
Gary Krackenberger, 59, appeared in Vigo Superior Court 6 on Monday where Judge Michael Lewis also set a Nov. 15 pretrial conference date.
Krackenberger was arrested July 2 after a police investigation of an incident that allegedly occurred at a church yard sale.
Detective Todd Kennedy of the Terre Haute Police Department reported that a 12-year-old girl told police that she was at the church yard sale when she went inside the building to use the restroom. When she exited, she said Krackenberger, who was sitting in a chair in the lobby, grabbed her by the arm, pulled her to him and rubbed her breast through her shirt. He then reached under the garment and grabbed her bare breast.
Krackenberger posted $35,000 cash bond July 3 and was released from the Vigo County Jail. A no-contact order was issued to prohibit him from contacting the alleged victim.
