Vigo County Jail Log: Oct. 31, 2012

TERRE HAUTE —  The following individuals were booked into the Vigo County Jail by area law enforcement on Tuesday and Wednesday, based on jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.    

Tuesday

David L. Scott, 45, 2200 block of North Tabertown Road, Terre Haute, booked 10:57 a.m. Battery.

Joshua E. Heichel, 22, 2400 block of Spruce Street, Terre Haute, booked 12:06 p.m. Failure to appear.

Michael D. Thacker, 24, 2400 block of Spruce Street, Terre Haute, booked 12:07 p.m. Battery (two counts), strangulation, criminal confinement and battery-domestic.  

Joe Greene, 29, 2100 North 21st Street, Terre Haute, booked 2:19 p.m. Failure to appear.

Ryan K. Smith, 29, 100 block of South First Street, Terre Haute, booked 4:03 p.m. Probation violation.

Brooke Weatherspoon, 31, 100 block of Crawford Street, Terre Haute, booked 5:46 p.m. Forgery.

Regina K. Mershon, 47, 1400 block of Hulman Street, Terre Haute, booked 6:30 p.m.   Failure to appear.

Floyd A. Shepard, 34, 300 block of South Eighth Street, West Terre Haute, booked 7:25 p.m. Failure to appear.

Meghan L. Showecker, 32, 900 block of South 22nd Street, Terre Haute, booked 10:38 p.m. Operating while intoxicated and possession of controlled substance (two counts).

Wednesday

Kasey A. Phelps, 19, 2900 block of South Eitgth Street, Terre Haute, booked 12:01 a.m. Failure to appear (two counts).

Stephen Lenges, 60, 200 block of North Sumner Avenue, West Terre Haute, booked 1:55 a.m. Failure to appear.

Robert E. Lenges, 21, 200 block of North Somner, Terre Haute, booked 1:58 a.m. Resisting law enforcement and battery-police.

Bill F. Douglas III, 19, 2200 block of North 12th, Terre Haute, booked 7:28 a.m. Receiving stolen property.

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
