Arrest made in Cigar Store robbery

TERRE HAUTE — Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing the Wabash Cigar Store on Nov. 21.

James Howard Johnson confessed after being picked up by police for questioning, said Terre Haute police Detective Kayle Pickens.

Other parties are involved in the crime, but no other arrests have been made, he said.

Police are still trying to “isolate who did what,” Pickens said.

Johnson also is suspected of robbing the Courtesy Cleaners on Wabash Avenue.

He was in the Vigo County jail late Friday on two preliminary charges of armed robbery.
