A Dennison, Ill., man is accused of drunken driving after his car rammed the back of a hayride carrying at least 14 people Saturday near the Clark County-Edgar County, Ill., line.
No one was seriously hurt, although several people on the ride were treated for minor injuries.
Todd Stokes, 51, was arrested and preliminarily charged also with leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident, obstruction of justice and illegal transportation of alcohol.
Stokes and a tractor driven by Robert Hedges, 43, of Carmel were eastbound on Clark County 2250th Road when Stokes’ car allegedly rear-ended the hay wagon pulled by Hedges, according to Indiana State Police.
Stokes allegedly fled the scene before his capture. Fourteen riders on the hay wagon ranged in age from 3 to 58.
Stokes was detained late Sunday in the Clark County Jail in Marshall, Ill., without bail.
