BRAZIL — Five arrests have been made in connection with a series of burglaries, vandalism and thefts in southern Clay County.
Three juvenile males, including a 17-year-old Terre Haute male, have been sent to a juvenile detention facility after admitting to police they participated in various criminal acts. The trio, who all attend Clay City High School, have been charged with multiple counts including burglary, auto theft, theft, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
Also arrested was Tommy Anderson II, 18, of Brazil, who was found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia when he met with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department about the alleged crimes.
Anderson later admitted his involvement in a burglary of a home in Cory and storage units in Clay City. He was booked into the Clay County Jail on preliminary charges of burglary, criminal mischief, trespassing, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
A fifth suspect was being sought by police Monday evening.
Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton reports that the investigation so far has solved four vehicle thefts, one commercial burglary, five storage unit burglaries, three home garage burglaries, one pole barn burglary and one residential burglary.
