Food, toy drive set for Thursday

TERRE HAUTE — The public can help volunteers collect food and toys for the needy this holiday season.

The Honey Creek Fire Department and Family Chiropractic will host a one-day food and toy drive at the latter’s office in Ellis Plaza on U.S. 41 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday.

Josh Sittler, spokesman for the department, said donations also may be dropped off at any of their fire stations before Thursday. The Honey Creek Fire Department maintains stations at 800 W. Dallas Dr., 6553 S. Carlisle St., 1139 Springhill Dr. and 3083 Feree Dr.

Non-perishable food and toy donations will be gathered and taken to the 14th and Chestnut Community Center for distribution, he said.

The toy drive is an annual event sponsored by Family Chiropractic.
