TERRE HAUTE — Two people were injured in an 11:18 a.m. Monday accident on U.S. 41 near the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
Merle Turner, 69, of Bowling Green, remained in Terre Haute Regional Hospital on Monday evening after the vehicle he was driving southbound crashed head-on into a northbound vehicle driven by Shawn O’Farrell, 25, Terre Haute.
Deputy Bob Bartlett of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reported that Turner’s vehicle was southbound in the northbound lanes.
O’Farrell also was transported to Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Assisting at the scene were Honey Creek Fire Department and TransCare personnel.
