Brazil — A missing Vigo County teenager has been found.
Amber R. Wills, 16, was found in Brazil on Thursday evening, according to Detective Clayton White of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department. She appeared to be in good health, he said.
Her father’s ex-wife “found her walking down a street in Brazil,” White said. The ex-wife took Wills back to her dad, “and then we were called and she was taken to the Vigo County Juvenile Justice Center. It turns out she was just a runaway. She didn’t want to go back home,” White said.
She faces a juvenile charge for running away.
White hoped to interview Wills later Friday to learn more about where she had been and what she had been doing since she left her Vigo County home between the late hours of Oct. 31 and the early hours of Nov. 1. She was last seen by her father at about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
Wills initially was reported as a runaway the day she went missing. Her status was changed to “endangered” after 10 days passed with no word from the Terre Haute North Vigo High School student.
