A former Terre Haute resident has been identified as the FedEx truck driver killed Saturday when his truck hit a fallen tree on Indiana 157 in southern Clay County.
Raymond Wesley Corey, 54, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by Clay County Coroner Joel Reinoehl.
Additional details about the accident had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon, but the Clay County Sheriff’s Department did report that the delivery truck Corey was driving hit a tree after it fell across both lanes of the highway, south of County Road 800 South. The accident was reported around 7:06 a.m. Saturday.
Corey had worked for Fed Ex Ground and Home Delivery for 16 years.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Greiner Funeral Home at 2005 N. 13th St. in Terre Haute.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today.
