CLAY COUNTY — One person died when a FedEx truck hit a tree lying across Indiana 157 south of County Road 800 South in Clay County early Saturday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department reported that Coroner Joel Reinoehl pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The accident was reported around 7:06 a.m.
The name of the driver was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The tree had fallen across both lanes of the road.
Additional agencies responding to the scene were the Clay County Fire Department, Lewis Township Volunteer Fire Department,
TransCare and the State Highway Department.
