TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute man faces two class-D felonies after allegedly stealing a handgun and then threatening a person not to tell on him.
Patrick S. Hamilton, 24, was arrested Thursday afternoon for theft and intimidation. He appeared by video in Vigo Superior Court Division 6 on Friday where Judge Michael Lewis read charges that allege Hamilton stole a handgun Sept. 25, and then threatened to kill a woman if she told anyone he had taken it.
Lewis appointed attorney Angela Bullock as Hamilton’s public defender, and set another hearing for Tuesday afternoon to determine future court dates.
Hamilton is being held in the Vigo County jail with bail set at $10,000 with no 10 percent allowed.
