Police arrest fugitive wanted after pursuit

A fugitive sought by police in three counties has been taken into custody.

Daymon Langley, 22, of Terre Haute, was arrested at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at Motel 6 in Beech Grove after police received an anonymous tip of his wherabouts.

Langley was wanted after a three-county chase that began in Clinton, passed through Parke County and ended in northern Vigo County along U.S. 41 on Aug. 10. He eluded capture at that time.

Langley was accused of trying to run the Clinton Police chief off the road during a pursuit after Langley refused to pull over his vehicle for a traffic stop. Police agencies in Vermillion, Parke and Vigo counties participated in joint investigation of the incident.

Chief Deputy Clark Cottom of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reports that the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department assisted in the apprehension. Langley was taken to the Marion County Jail, and was to be returned to the Vigo County Jail today.

Langley’s outstanding charges include probation recovation and burglary in Vigo County; resisting arrest and habitual traffic violator in Vermillion County; and criminal recklessness with a vehicle in Parke County.
