A possible threat to students has resulted in a lockdown for all Linton-Stockton School Corp. buildings today.
The lockdown is in response to information received by elementary school principal Kent Brewer last week.
According to a statement issued by Superintendent Nick Karazsia, the information given to Brewer did not name specific students or give a time or place for an incident to occur.
Brewer contacted the Linton Police Department after he received the information, and the local police have investigated the threat.
The lockdown will include heightened security in all school district buildings, in addition to increased police presence on campus.
“As always we will continue to remain watchful and alert to any problems or concerns that arise,” Karazsia said in the statement. “Our school staff and the police department work diligently to provide a safe school environment. We investigate every rumor or threat, and every threat is taken very seriously because we care very deeply about the safety of every student and staff member in our schools.”
