EFFINGHAM, Ill. —
Illinois police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man’s remains found March 2012.
The Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations in Effingham, Jasper County Sheriff’s Department and the Jasper County Coroner’s Office jointly are making the request. A man’s partial remains were found in rural Newton in Jasper County, Ill., on March 10, 2012.
It is believed the man could be Caucasian, Asian, Native American or Hispanic/Latino. It also is estimated that he was 35 to 50 years of age, and about 5 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
The Federal Bureau of Identification completed a facial approximation of how the individual may have looked.
