Police investigating break-in at Cayuga Municipal Building

CAYUGA — Police are seeking the public’s help in catching those responsible for the burglary of the Cayuga Municipal Building.

According to an Indiana State Police news release, the burglary occurred at the building at 301 S. First St., Cayuga, between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspects reportedly broke out a window on the building’s south side to gain entry, and then proceeded to vandalize the marshal’s office and steal eight Cayuga Police badges, three firearms and miscellaneous items. The Health Clinic office also was reportedly violated, but an inventory of the items was still under way Wednesday evening.

An investigation is under way, and individuals with information concerning the burglary are asked to contact the ISP Putnamville Post, (765) 653-4114.
