Parke police make arrest in hit-and-run accident

ROSEDALE — A Parke County man has been arrested following a hit-and-run accident that left another man injured.

Allan R. Hyatte, 57, of Rosedale, was arrested at his home Sunday by the Parke County Sheriff’s Department after police located the 1994 Oldsmobile identified as the car Hyatte was driving.

According to a media release, at about 1:04 a.m. Sunday, a 911 call stated that an altercation had occurred at a tavern in Rosedale, and that a man had been run over by a car, with the driver fleeing the scene.

Deputies arrived at the scene and spoke to the 30-year-old victim, who gave information about the driver and his car.

Hyatte was arrested for leaving the scene of a serious injury accident and criminal recklessness. He was lodged in the Parke County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash only.

No update on the victim’s condition was available.
