Witness testifies against ex-boyfriend Musall in Parke County murder trial

ROCKVILLE — A witness in a Parke County murder trial testified this morning that defendant Jeremy Musall told her he would kill her on Aug. 13, 2011, the night he allegedly broke into her mobile home, raped her, beat her boyfriend to death and kidnapped her child.

Jeremy Musall, 28, has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of burglary resulting in bodily injury, rape and kidnapping related to the death of Joseph Snow in the Rocky Fork Lake area of southeastern Parke County.

As the first witness called to the stand in front of the 12-member jury and Judge Sam Swaim, the woman remained on the witness stand most of the morning, explaining her actions on the day prior to the early morning incident. The witness said she had recently ended a three-month relationship with Musall, and had resumed an off-and-on relationship with Snow, with whom she had a toddler daughter.

The witness indicated that Musall was jealous of her relationship with Snow, and that the defendant sent text messages to her cell phone multiple times, showed up at her place of employment in Cloverdale, and followed Snow on the day prior to the incident.

“I was scared,” the woman said, indicating that Snow was also concerned about the safety of the witness, himself and their daughter in the hours before Musall allegedly broke into their home.

Testimony continues this afternoon in the felony murder case against Musall. The trial is expected to last through Friday in Parke Circuit Court.
