Greensburg woman pleads guilty in failed robbery

TERRE HAUTE — A Greensburg woman has pleaded guilty to her alleged involvement in an unsuccessful plan to rob a Terre Haute store last year.

Cassandra Martin, 22, appeared in Vigo Superior Court 3 on Thursday on a plea agreement for charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.

At her sentencing, scheduled for March 28, she will face a six-year prison sentence, to be served as four years on work release and two years on in-home detention.

Martin was arrested Sept. 14 along with Michael Blasdel, 22, of Terre Haute, and Lucas Connor, 22, of Greensburg, after the trio allegedly attempted to rob a discount store in the Southland Shopping Center.

Terre Haute Police said the store manager was cashing out for the night when she saw two subjects, wearing face masks, standing near the front door. She called police, and when uniformed officers arrived, they found Conner and Blasdel near the store, and Martin waiting in her car at a nearby motel.

When police apprehended the men near the store, each suspect possessed a loaded handgun and a face mask.

The criminal cases against Blasdel and Connor are pending in Division 3 court.
