TERRE HAUTE — The following individuals were booked into the Vigo County Jail by area law enforcement on Wednesday and Thursday, based on jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.



• Stacie P. Wagle, 42, 1300 block of Desart, Brazil, was booked at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday. Probation violation.

• Terry L. Gabbard, 49, 2100 block of South Eighth Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 10:37 a.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.   

• Kenny W. Cheeseman, 38, 2800 block of South 25th Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 10:48 a.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.

• Stephen J. Dowd, 44, 200 block of Rainbow Drive, Rockville, was booked at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear and parole violation.

• John S. Mize, 30, 200 block of N. Gilbert, Clinton, was booked at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday. Probation violation.

• Jacob Dean, 24, no address given, was booked at 12:16 p.m. Wednesday. Court order.

• Melissa D. Clark, 40, 600 block of South 17th Street, Terre Haute was booked at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.

• Angela K. Dennis, 31, 1300 block of First Avenue, Terre Haute, was booked at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday. Habitual traffic violator and leaving scene-property damage.   

• Michael S. Powell, 23, 500 block of South 431⁄2 Drive, Terre Haute, was booked at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday. Child molesting.

• Tommy D. Stahl, 38, 11100 block of North Milhon West Drive, Mooresville, was booked at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday. Probation violation and court order.

• Larry D. Harris, 27, 1700 block of Thompson Avenue, Terre Haute, was booked at 4:37 p.m. Wednesday. Bond revocation.

• John Olson, 23, 1100 block of West 1000 North, Fortville, was booked at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday. Bond revocation.

• Robert C. Hoopengarner, 49, 3400 block of Woodsmall Road, Terre Haute, was booked at 5:16 p.m. Wednesday. Bond revocation.

• Ashley N. Batchelor, 19, 300 block of South 13th Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear two counts.

• David W. Barnes, 46, 600 block of North 14th Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.

• Rodney D. Woods, 52, 1100 block of South Eighth Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Public intoxication.

• Charles Phillips, 46, 2900 block of South 10th, Terre Haute, was booked at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday. Possession controlled substance.

• Elizabeth L. McCarter, 54, 2400 block of E. Quinn Avenue, Terre Haute, was booked at 7:30 p.m.  Wednesday. Operating while intoxicated.

• Joshua Vines, 25, 2200 block of N. Orchard Place, West Terre Haute, was booked at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday. Battery-by body waste, resisting law enforcement, and disorderly conduct.

• Antoinette Reed, 46, 2500 block of North 26th Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.

• Melissa D. Peters, 37, 2600 block of E. Feree Drive, Terre Haute, was booked at 9:57 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.

• Daniel Fuqua, 57, 1900 block of Eighth Avenue, Terre Haute, was booked at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.

• Thomas E. Cowdrey, 48, 11200 block of South Battlerow Place, Terre Haute, was booked at 10:54 p.m. Wednesday. Battery.

• Michelle L. Warnock, 36, 1500 block of South 10th Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 11:18 p.m. Wednesday. Failure to appear.

• Linnea Land, 48, 2900 block of South Eighth Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday. Bond revocation.

• Jackie L. Shelton II, 30, 500 block of South Eighth Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 12:34 a.m. Thursday. Habitual traffic violator and possession controlled substance.

• Guy A. Switzer, 20, 2800 block of North 61⁄2 Street, Terre Haute, was booked at 12:39 a.m. Thursday. Probation violation and possession of paraphernalia.



Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
