CLAY COUNTY —
Several Clay County fire departments responded to an early afternoon fire today at the Knights Inn, located south of Brazil at the Indiana 42-Indiana 59 intersection.
The fire was first reported at 12:55 p.m. and fire departments responded from Jackson, Posey and Van Buren townships as well as Brazil city and search-and-rescue. There did not appear to be any injuries, according to a dispatcher with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.
A representative of the Brazil city fire department said it appeared the fire was contained to the office portion of the Knights Inn. The office appears to be a total loss.
No further details were immediately available.
