Driver pleads guilty to driving drunk in wreck in which friend died

TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute man has pleaded guilty to a charge of causing death when driving while intoxicated for his alleged involvement in a December 2010 accident that killed a friend.

Matthew Mark Neadershiser, 29, pleaded guilty to the class-C felony charge on Friday, and is to be sentenced Feb. 13 in Vigo Superior Court 5.

Terre Haute Police report that Neaderhiser was driving the car at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a tree on Ninth Street north of Cherry Street early on Dec. 24, 2010. Passenger Jacob Hines, 28, died of his injuries. Neaderhiser had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent, police reported.
